Kansas READ Month is celebrated each January.

The booklet is a collection of teaching ideas to use with children‘s literature during Kansas READ Month, 2009 or throughout the year. The books used in these lessons come from the Bill Martin Jr. Picture Book Nomination and Award List.

A special thanks is given to the undergraduate elementary education students from Emporia State University who developed the activities along with editors Tara Azwell and Elizabeth Dobler.
